Problems We're Trying to Solve
- Maintining the current site at http://burnon.ca/ has proven to be a signficant bottleneck for effective timely communication (including announcements and photo sharing) with the Ontatio Burning Man community.
- Different disconnected means of communication are currently being used, including Google Groups and Facebook, which not everyone uses or wishes to register for and monitor.
- We're trying to replace the existing site as soon as we can with a good interem solution
- We're considering a long-term solution that will be as close an approxiomation as possible to an ideal communication platform
About the Existing Site
- Once we have a replacement, Dave McKay can help get the name server registration changed
The Plan
We've decided to go with Wordpress for the immediate replacement site. Jamie Oastler, our Wordpress guru in residence, will head this venture. We have no concrete plans right now for the other site, but some of us have been working on ideas for a really long time which we'll bring to the table once we actually sit together at a table or something.
